Check out this Letter to the Editor written by FCV's Courtnee Connon, just in time for Thanksgiving. Thank you, Tampa Bay Times.
"My family, like many, has the wonderful tradition of going around and saying what we are thankful for during Thanksgiving dinner. This year I will say growing up in Florida. Not everyone gets to grow up in such a wonderful state with pristine beaches and springs, and abundantly beautiful natural areas and wildlife. We truly live where others vacation. This state has given me so many happy memories. But I’m afraid my children won’t be able to say the same thing. Our beautiful state is suffering. We are already seeing the devastating impacts from climate change: sea level rise, rapidly intensifying hurricanes and vicious Red Tide, to name a few. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We have 12 years to reverse the harmful effects of climate change. It may seem like a daunting task, but what choice do we have? Let’s work together and demand action on climate change so our kids can say they’re thankful to live here, too."
