Second Video Release: Juniper Springs #LoveFlorida

published on: February 25, 2019

Florida is home to breathtaking, crystal-clear freshwater springs teeming with wildlife and vast underground caverns to explore. Special places like Juniper Springs are one of the reasons we #LoveFlorida. As a Floridian, you know better than most that water is life. But what happens when that water goes unprotected? In Florida, protecting land is protecting water, and right now both are at risk.

Last September, Congress and the Trump Administration let America’s most important conservation and recreation program expire. Your voice is needed right now to make sure our water and land is protected. A vote on an important public lands bill is up for a vote this week.

Without these vital funds for land conservation in Florida, our springs and our drinking water will suffer. Florida Conservation Voters in partnership with our allies at the League of Conservation Voters are calling on Congress to support full reauthorization and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

FCV invites you to watch our Executive Director, Aliki Moncrief, discuss the importance of protecting Florida’s springs in the second in our series of five videos about land conservation:

Considering the importance of Florida’s natural areas to our economy and quality of life, our full Congressional Delegation should be leading the way. You can help make sure the Land and Water Conservation Fund is restored as soon as possible by contacting your Congressperson right now.

Tell them that you and your family love our nation’s springs and urge them to support full reauthorization and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Click here to take action.

Thank you for all that you do for Florida. Together, with our allies in Congress, we will save the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
