Mayor Andrew Gillum believes climate change is a real and urgent threat to Florida's quality of life and economy. Politicians who ignore it are putting us and future generations of Floridians at risk. Their lack of action also ignores an enormous opportunity to make the U.S. the world's leader in clean energy and to put people to work at every rung of the income ladder.

Andrew believes the best way to address the impacts of climate change is to embrace a plan to transition Florida to clean energy as rapidly as possible. Achieving this goal will put us on a path to a completely clean energy economy, creating thousands of new jobs in Florida, cleaner air, and healthier families.

As Governor, Andrew will take on the challenge of rebuilding Florida into a more resilient state and protecting our natural resources that make Florida the nation's number one tourist destination. Andrew will make protecting the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee a priority, work to keep our water clean from toxic algae blooms, and fight to protect Florida's access to clean water sources.

Sean Shaw has dedicated his professional career to standing up to the powerful special interests on behalf of the people of Florida. He is a University of Florida educated lawyer who represents consumers in property insurance claims, and he is the son of the late Leander Shaw, who was Florida's first African American Supreme Court Chief Justice. In his time as a State Representative, Shaw pushed to strengthen environmental protection laws, criminal justice reform, increased funding for public education, and common sense gun safety legislation.

Shaw will use the powers of the Florida Attorney General’s Office to hold polluters accountable for undermining climate policy and environmental protections. As Attorney General, Shaw will be the independent watchdog Floridians deserve and will play an integral role in the face of a 5-4 conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court.
